Aroha paints the volcanic plateau she grew up on — the steam, mineral colour and still water of the Rotorua lakes. Working in oils, she builds up thin glazes and thick impasto to catch the strange, shifting light of the geothermal landscape. Her work is held in private collections across Aotearoa and Australia.
